Rolo Turtle Candies

Print
Happy Friday! I'm taking it easy today... literally. While many are looking forward to the weekend, I'll be recovering from an outpatient oral/facial plastic surgery to remove a benign mass from my upper lip and cheek. I'm hoping I'll recover quickly and smoothly since it was a quick procedure! So to continue with the nice and easy theme of the day, here's a sweet treat that fits the bill - Rolo Turtle Candies. You've probably seen, if not heard, or better yet had these before! Salty pretzels + Hershey Rolo Candies + a pecan = delicious turtle candy wannabes...

There was no need to go searching for a recipe. You can find it right on a package of Hershey Rolo Candies! When I sat at the table unwrapping each candy to make these, the Baron excitedly asked if I got the recipe from his mom. It wasn't until I pointed out the recipe was on the package, I realize he thought all these years his mom came up with the recipe... whoops! But really, it's so easy to make these, I'm sure everyone already knows about them. Kinda like getting a recipe for making rice krispie treats. Or ice. :)  This is a great recipe to make with kids so if you know of any, encourage them to get in the kitchen with you!

Rolo Turtle Candies
recipe from Hershey's Rolo package

20 Small pretzels (or GF pretzels from Snyders)
20 ROLO Chewy Caramels in Milk Chocolate
20 Pecan halves

Heat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Place one pretzel for each pretzel treat desired on prepared sheet. Top each pretzel with one unwrapped ROLO Chewy Caramel in Milk Chocolate.

Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until caramel piece begins to soften, but not melt. Remove from oven; top with either pecan half or additional pretzel. Cool completely.

This looks simple but very good. I actually have never heard, seen, or tasted these - however, I am looking forward to tasting them now! Check out my blog if you'd like.

Joelen: His mom didn't come up with the recipe but she got it from a friend who probably got it on the package. I never even looked for it on the package.

These are the best! Way better then the ones covered in chocolate. Not as sweet & so easy to make
