Sunday Fun Day Giveaway: Saucy Mama Condiment Kit

Print
Happy Sunday! Hope you are enjoying the weekend and are looking forward to a good week ahead!  Somehow my previous text was erased and so I'm having to recall what I initially wrote. Blah! Saucy Mama recently had a recipe contest among 50 bloggers and I was chosen to participate. Of course, the folks at Saucy Mama didn't make it so easy. We were to use only 5 ingredients, one being a selection of Saucy Mama ingredients to create an easy recipe. 'Free ingredients' included salt, black better, and cooking oil. To kick things off, Saucy Mama sent me a package with the following condiments to play with...

Apricot Ginger Mustard
Tarragon Lemon Mustard
Dijon Mustard
Sweet Heat Marinade
Pacific Rim Ginger Dressing
Chipotle Ranch Dressing

Given this challenge, I came up with an original recipe for Tarragon Lemon Chicken, using Saucy Mama's Tarragon Lemon Mustard...

Tarragon Lemon Chicken
original Joelen recipe

2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup Saucy Mama Tarragon Lemon Mustard
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons olive oil

Place chicken in a zip top storage bag with the mustard and minced garlic. Marinade at least 1 hour up to 3 hours.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat a skillet over medium high heat with oil.

Remove chicken from zip top storage bag and season with salt and pepper to your tastes. Dredge chicken in breadcrumbs.

When oil in skillet is hot, add coated chicken and pan fry until browned. Transfer chicken to a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until juices run clear.

I served this over a wild rice pilaf and side salad.

As a result of this contest, Saucy Mama was also generous to provide a set of Saucy Mama Condiment Kit to one lucky reader! The kit includes:
Saucy Mama Sweet Heat Marinade
Saucy Mama Tarragon Lemon Mustard
Saucy Mama Pacific Rim Ginger Dressing

I cannot live with Sriracha hot sauce. I use this stuff on everything! Stir frys, spinach, eggs, chicken. I just love it! It gives you 'hot' with actual flavor, as opposed to just hot with a bunch of salt.

Does butter count, because really I can't imagine a world without butter.

Spicy brown mustard. Nothing fancy, just good and useful!

As far as a cooking condiment, I always have lemons on hand for the fresh lemon juice, so I'll say lemon juice.

That one is easy. Mustard is my "can't do without it" condiment. There are so many varieties and it can be used so many ways. That vinegary tang gives some oomph to so many dishes

I can't live without Canadian Heinz Ketchup (Aux Tomates). For some reason the ketchup in Canada just tastes better! My family owns a cottage in Ontario so every summer we stock up on an entire year's supply!

I love them all (BUT MAYO!). I'd have to say peanut butter if that counts since I put it on nearly EVERYTHING. Or course ground mustard if I'm going traditional. I can't imagine a sandwich without it!

Jaime said...

Siracha! We eat it on almost everything in our house - a little spice without much actual flavor behind it.
